ABOUT US
On 18 January 2020, the founding meeting of the Swiss-Belarus Friendship Association (FASB) took place in Bern. During the founding meeting the statutes of the association were discussed and approved.
The FASB aims to promote the development of friendly relations between Switzerland and Belarus. The activities of the Association are focused in particular on the organization of events and consultations as well as on the support of important projects in various fields, mainly in the humanitarian and cultural fields, which will contribute to the further rapprochement of our countries and peoples.

"Diesen Sommer sind es 28 Jahre her, dass ich, zusammen mit meinem jüngsten Sohn, mit dem Zug von Lugano nach Belarus reiste. Es war ein Eintauchen in eine neue Welt. Eine Welt der Gastfreundschaft, der menschlichen Wärme, des Aufbruchs und der Hoffnung. Zum andern wurde mir zum ersten Mal bewusst, welch gewaltiges Leid die Katastrophe von Tschernobyl über die Menschen von Belarus brachte. Belarus liess mich nicht mehr los. In den letzten 25 Jahren bin ich mehr als 60 Mal nach Belarus gereist. Das Land wurde zu meiner zweiten Heimat. Menschen aus allen sozialen Schichten nahmen mich auf und wir wurden Freunde. Sie schenkten mir Vertrauen und ihre Freundschaft ist bis heute ein grosses Geschenk für mich.
Das Leitmotiv meiner Tätigkeit in all den Jahren ist eine Zusage aus dem Buch des Propheten Jeremia: „Gott hat Gedanken der Hoffnung und einer guten Zukunft (auch für Belarus.)“
Umstände (bei mir ist es das Alter), können die Kontakte zwischen uns und Belarus erschweren. Aber „wo ein Wille ist, gibt es auch einen Weg“. Ich wünsche Ihnen und mir die Entschlossenheit, nach Wegen der Freundschaft mit Belorussinnen und Belarussen zu suchen und zu gehen. мы не сдаёмся."
